Why do people burn leaves?
When Fall comes around all the leaves start falling to the ground. Most people rake them. Instead of disposing them correctly, they burn them. Burning leaves hurts our atmosphere. Mulching the leaves by going over them with a lawnmower or composting the leaves, which is great in nutrients is a much better choice than burning them. Leaf burning creates air pollution, which contributes to breathing problems and is a serious fire hazard. In Michigan, state officials want the residents of Michigan to stop burning leaves. In some of the communities of Michigan aren't allowed to burn leaves without a permit.
